Bridge Mapping

Introduction

Bridge Mapping is a method for documenting the relationships between old and new ICS items during significant overhauls. It aids in translating designs used in the Bluetooth® Qualification Process from old to new ICS structures. Bridge Mapping is implemented in the ICS documents of the CORE, LESEC, LMP, SEC, and UHCI layers as a result of new qualification requirements set by Vol. 0, Part D "Core Configurations" and QPRDv3.

How does this impact the Bluetooth Qualification Process?

When including QDIDs that support LMP or LL to create a new Design, Qualification Workspace will automatically select the SEC and LE SEC layers and the associated features based on the supported features of the included Designs. QDIDs supporting LMP or LL that were established before the creation of the SEC and LESEC ICS had their security mechanisms tested when qualifying to LMP and LL.
