Create a Subset of a Design – Qualification

Introduction

A Member can use Option 2b to identify they want to create a subset of their existing Design that has a DN or QDID, provided that the existing Design does not include a DN or QDID from another Member company. The subset Design is created by removing one or more Layers or optional features. The subset Design must still meet the requirements of the same Core Configuration (if applicable). A subset Design cannot add features, and the TCRL Package version cannot be changed.

Before you start

The existing Design must have a DN or QDID and must not include a DN or QDID from another Member company.
The subset Design must still meet the requirements of the same Core Configuration, if applicable.
A subset Design cannot add features, and the TCRL Package version cannot be changed.

Steps to create a subset Design

Step 1. Open Manage Submitted Products

On the homepage of Qualification Workspace, select Manage Submitted Products.

Step 2. Open the source Design

Identify the Design from which you want to create a subset and select the Design Number (DN).

Step 3. Start the subset

Under the Design Details section, select Create Subset.

Step 4. Enter Product Details

Enter the Product Details for the Product that implements the subset Design. Once complete, select Save and go to Specify the Design.

Step 5. Specify the Design

On the Specify the Design page, select Save and go to Layer Selection.

Step 6. Adjust Layer Selection

On the Layer Selection page, de-select any Layers not implemented in the Product.

Note: The subset Design must still meet the requirements of the original Design's Core Configuration, so some Layers cannot be de-selected.

Step 7. Continue to ICS Selection

Once the Layer Selection step is complete, select Save and go to ICS Selection.

Step 8. Adjust ICS Selection

On the ICS Selection page, remove any optional features not implemented in the Product by de-selecting the features. Ensure all capabilities and dependencies are consistent by running the Consistency Check.

Step 9. Save and proceed to Submission

Once the optional features are removed and any inconsistencies are resolved, select Save all changes at the bottom of the page. Then, on the top navigation bar, select Submission to proceed directly to the submission phase.

Step 10. Complete the Submission

Review the Submission Requirements and Product List. Confirm the information is correct, complete the agreement acknowledgment and signature, and select Complete the Submission.
